I had a bit of Audrey Hepburn running through my veins
so glad you are here! XOXO
I have always loved tulle. Since Lylah was a baby I’ve been making her Tutus for just about every imaginable occasion and any outfit that had a bit of ruffle or tulle on it I had to get it for her. Tutus are just so darling. I guess you could say I wished they made them in my size! Well….. since the tulle skirts have been on the rise and have become more and more popular I was hesitant to go for it. I was worried about where to wear it or how….basically letting the negative thoughts of what others thought stop me from what I really wanted. A TUTU of my own. And to be honest (IMO) I think a tulle skirt is good anytime, no occasion necessary! I can’t tell you how many compliments I get when I walk out in a fluffy tulle skirt to the grocery store or even Target, no where special but I feel special and that’s what matters most, right? Along with the light in my daughters eyes as we both walk around in our “princess dresses” she calls them. So sweet.
When I planned this outfit I wanted something glam & chic. Usually my tutu outfits are darling styled and sweet. The black on black with black heels gave it the edge I wanted but the darling chic look as well. I had a bit of Audrey Hepburn running through my veins as I walked through the park in downtown OKC. hehe
The top is a steal I found at Ross….Im always up for a good deal and made sure to get one in every color especially since it was on sale for $4.00 <<< YAAASSS! can’t beat that. The sheer and polka dot detailing on the shoulders is so flattering.
For jewelry you can’t go wrong with a chunky pearl layered necklace paired with a crystal statement necklace. At first I thought it was too much but it went so perfectly with this chic & glam “Hepburn” look.
If you follow me along on Instagram (@jessbkr) I mentioned in the past how my friends at Barnes & Noble sent me over the “New York Times Best Seller #GIRLBOSS” by Sophia Amoruso. Ladies! it was such a great and inspiring book! You must get it especially if you are a “girlboss” or wanting to be your own boss. There are so many ahhh-haaa moments throughout the book that Sophia shares. Get it!
I cannot wait to share more of these fun girly-girl tutu looks with you! You can shop the look below and find your inner Audrey!!! hehe XOXO
