How We Became Fur Parents
This post has been sponsored by Purina and all gifts c/o Purina and the National Dog Show. As always reviews and opinions are 100% my own
MARLEY – I remember the day I first saw Marley. She was found wandering the streets with her bother, both puppies at the time, and just the cutest balls of fur I had ever seen. I wondered why the two were out running the streets alone and wanted to help find their owners because if they were mine I would be absolutely devastated to lose them. Once the owners were found they took the male and told us they didn’t want the female, my Marley. They were going to set her free and let her find a new home. I was shocked, beside myself, and confused how someone could reject a voiceless life as sweet and loyal as her. I couldn’t just let her go. Heartbroken I scooped her up and we went home….. to her FUREVER HOME.
BOBBIE – A few years later my husband and I felt it was time we add another Fur babe to the family. thats when we found Bobbie. She had just made her way into a foster home after a long journey from Georgia. She was 3 weeks past her euthanization date due to being pregnant. I was nervous about adopting an older dog and a shelter dog on top of it. As soon as I saw her all that worry left. She was ours and we took her home to her FUREVER HOME.
We are so thankful for them. Through all the moves we make as a military family they are right there with us offering comfort and a sense of peace knowing the changes will happen but our family is still together. Their love never ends.
There is so much to be thankful for when it comes to our furry family members and here are a few reasons why we are thankful for them:
- Can always count on kisses
- Knowing just when you need a cuddle
- Furry heater for cold toes
- Small smiles when those ears perk up
- All the tricks for treats
- A living vacuum
- Getting our babies to laugh for the first time
- Being so loving and patient with your human siblings
- Making squinty eyes when you are in trouble, good one bc then how could we be mad!
- Reminding us not to take life so seriously and to have fun anytime
- Master bug killers
- We can count on you to always be happy to see us come home.
- An amazing alarm system
- “Because they are ours and we love them” – Lylah
- “We can play catch with them all day” – Lylah
- “They are so cute” – Bowen
- “They make us laugh when they do crazy stuff” – Bowen
- “We can take them for car rides and walk them” – Lylah
