As most of you saw via social media or from me telling you in excitement I was invited by Southern Living Magazine to attend the Bastille Day event with Lancôme in Dillard’s at our local mall, Penn Square Mall, as a special guest…..phew that was a mouth full and probably a major run on.
When I got the email invite I was truly ecstatic and could not wait to pick out my outfit. I just j’adore all things french and when I heard there were going to be macarons you know I was all over that, plus the perfect occasion to wear a big fluffy tulle skirt (like a tulle skirt needs an occasion hehe) I went with this Parisian look :
I had my sweet girly girl tag along. She was just as excited if not more to get dressed up and have a girls day!
When we got to the Lancôme counter we were greeted by the sweetest group of ladies ever! They swooned over Lylah! We got so many compliments on our French #ootd it was so special. I couldn’t wait to find Rose Tilson, the Marketing Director attending the event from Southern Living. As soon as I found her I felt so comfortable with her. You know those people who you can just chit chat with all day, like the family vibe….she was just that. So sweet and she didn’t hesitate to hook us up with some extra macarons. They were delish! All the way from The Macaron Cafe in NYC to the middle of Oklahoma! One of the macarons, blackberry smoothie, was too pretty to eat! It had this amazing iridescent shine to it! Fancy…..
Enough about the french cookies….lets talk about the makeovers! Yes free makeovers! Not just half of the face and you pay for the other side, full makeovers by the beauty consultants from Lancôme. So generous of them. I watched as a few women got their makeovers done, you could see the glow on their faces! It was so wonderful to see them walk away refreshed and oh so beautifully confident. I loved that. I feel like that exemplifies the care and standard that Lancôme puts into their products and has for their customers.
Speaking of Lancôme products… we were treated with a wonderful goodie bag filled with several sample products that I have had the chance to try out!
Here is what we got:
Lancôme Génifique Advanced Youth Activating Concentrate • Lancôme • $134
Lancôme Blush Subtil – 026 Rose Aux Joues • Lancôme • $32
Lancôme ‘Hypnôse Drama’ Instant Full Body Volume Mascara • Lancôme • $27.50
Lancome Gloss in Love • Lancôme • $27
Lancome Creme Mousse Confort Comforting Creamy Foaming Cleanser • Lancôme • $25
Lancôme ‘Crème Radiance’ Clarifying Cleanser • Lancôme • $25
Not only were we treated with some amazing make up but also a cookbook ” Southern Made Fresh ” by Tasia Malakasis
I only had to skim through it and my mouth was watering! I could not wait to get it home and hand it over to the hubs. You know he’s the cook in the family. He can take a packet of Ramen Noodle seasoning and a hot dog and some how there is a full Thanksgiving feast on the table. Skills I tell ya! If we left it up to me we might be ordering pizza because would have I burnt everything including water haha. But the recipes are so easy to follow and Tasia has a few handwritten notes too help you out or give you encouragement, so I think I might try a meal or too! Ill let you know how it turns out.
Over all it was an amazing experience and I was so thrilled, grateful, and honored to have been invited!!!
Thank you so much friends at Southern Living, Lancome, and Dillards!
