Hope you are having a great day! I want to try something a little different here on Wednesday’s sharing a little update on life or whats resonating with me whether it be good or bad. I just want to share because you never know what impact your story may have on someone if your just share.
The holidays are over, its a new year, and I am ready to see the muted dark color tones to fade and the vibrant array of spring and summer colors to start making their way back into our wardrobes.
Can’t say the fall and winter seasons put my love for bold vibrant colors on hold. I will tell you have noticed a couple of colors that are popping up more and more as we transition into the spring and summer months. Its a mix between bold Red, Red-Organge, and Tangerine.
As much as I love the color orange I didn’t own one piece of orange clothing until just the other week. I was immediately drawn to the bright color I HAD to make it mine. Its certainly going to be a statement piece in my spring/summer wardrobe with how unique the color is.
Not only did I get my first orange article of clothing but I also picked up my very first pair of Mom Jeans! My family was skeptical about them and gave me a hard time but I have to say I don’t care one single bit because they are so incredibly comfortable. I will not lie to you, I wore them for a week straight. That’s how comfortable I felt in them. I think they are pretty cute too! They are different from my normal jeans so this was a good change.
Now I am on the hunt for even more Mom Jeans.
Since we are talking about things that are in style I have to be transparent with you. I feel like kindness is out of style and its up to us to bring it back. Over the past week I have personal experienced and witnessed countless acts of hate. Everything from people trash talking each other , body shaming, bullying, and snarky comments. I’m not just talking about online but 9 times out of 10 its usually happening on social media because people have the biggest set of balls when sitting in front of a computer screen.
You can sit and talk all day about how its important to be kind and set examples for the younger generations but nothing is going to happen if you are saying one thing and doing another. Actions speak louder than words.
A part of me thinks half the time people don’t even realize they are being jerks and assholes, they just go throwing around word vomit trying to be funny when in reality they are indirectly/or directly attacking someone.
You truly don’t know the impact your words can have on someone so my only advice here is one we all know, “Think before you speak” and here is another one think before your type.
This is something I need to practice more of myself because I am by no means perfect and I have my faults. I am horrible at throwing sarcasm around and stirring the pot at times. I actually love to stir pots so I will be working on that.
So here is to me and you bringing kindness back!!! Cheers!
