Planning a 6 year old’s dream room
As we get closer and closer to our next move I can’t help but anxiously start to plan the decor for the new home. Getting to decorate a new space is one of my favorite perks to this military lifestyle. Having to move around so much gives me the opportunity to switch up my decorating style.
I am currently flirting with the idea of upgrading my little girl’s bedroom. She will be turning 6 soon and deserves a room the reflects her current interests and sense of style.
I’m going to share the room ideas have so far and a few things that are currently waiting in my online carts that will help to elevate the overall theme I have planned for Lylah’s new big girl bedroom.
Ever since Lylah was a baby I have always felt a correlation with her name and the colors Lilac and Lavender and I wanted to somehow incorporate that into the new room color scheme but, like most little girls she is down right obsessed with Pink. So the main color pallet will be pink.
Like I said Pink is the color theme so I found some cute stick on/peel off wallpaper that could be the main wall or a contrasting wall. These wallpaper choices also go well with the pretty light blush pink I picked out.
A tufted bed, to me, is timeless and one that can grow with her which is why it’s at the top of my list. The thing is I was struggling with whether or not I should choose the pink tufted bed or the cream and like I said moments earlier I think a tufted bed is timeless but a pink one…..not so much.
As soon as I saw these curtains I knew I had to have them both. They are just the cutest!
This chandelier is going to be the perfect touch of glam to her room.
This is the piece that was made for a little princess and I know one 6 year old little girl that is going to love this bed crown.
