I started my #SaveSeptemberSeries to get me ready for the fall season….to use what I already had in my closet and save some mula for fall essentials! Its a good habit to get into, taking a “no shopping” oath for a month and wear only what you currently have. Not only can you put together new outfits but you can bring back to life that top you haven’t worn in a year by pairing it with a newer article of clothing. But don’t get comfortable with your wardrobe and only wear a select few that you know look good. Step out of that comfort zone and mix it up. It can be overwhelming when looking through your closet because we usually end up saying ” I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR! ” Yet there is a closet and dresser full of clothes.
TIP: I like to start from the beginning of my closet. If the first in line is a top grab it and find an outfit around that top.
Don’t Repeat! Meaning don’t pair the shirt with the pants you know it looks good with because thats what you wore it with in the past. Mix it up, play with patterns (stripes and leopard print for example), add layers ( belts, blazers, jewelry, hats)
Back of the line buddy! Once you’ve worn something put it in the back of the closet so you don’t repeat your outfit.
Adios. I like this part because I have such a hard time parting with my clothes. lol silly I know but I think “I could wear this one day” and I never do. So this is your one day! Did you wear it? Did you love it, love how you felt in it when you gave it a new look? if you said yes then by all means put that girl back and give her another chance. If you said no then its time to go. But you paid good money for that. Well an alternative to donating is selling it. Yes sell it ( now lets talk about this if its stained and really “loved” don’t sell it, obviously. And price accordingly)
***Now I’ve got a post coming up just for you! Its my fall wish list & shopping buys. Lets go shopping together!***
Do you have a wardrobe crush? I can’t wait to share mine with you! Think about it and we can talk it over a glass of wine this week!
