Hello my dear
If there is one thing I’ve changed over the years being pregnant are my buying habits while preggo. Your body changes so much during pregnancy you almost have to buy new pieces to accommodate your newest internal house guest. Your jeans get a little too snug and tops just don’t fit quiet like they used to. As my body changes during pregnancy I find myself reaching for comfort pieces in my wardrobe like dresses, leggings, loose fitted tops, and pants with a stretchy waistband. If I do shop for new clothing I try to keep in my my body after baby and that includes nursing. You won’t catch me sporting pieces that don’t have easy boob access! Holding nothing back here y’all…. its the truth. So when shopping for my bump I go for tops that I can wear after baby that way I am not wasting money on a shirt I will only wear for 5-10 weeks and I don’t like to buy jeans at all during pregnancy. There is literally no point.at .all IMO
Tops that are a little long, flowy, that have plenty of stretch or that can accentuate my body in both seasons, with and without bump are my guideline. I must say my absolute go to wardrobe pieces are dresses. There are so many varieties of dresses to choose from. I like maxis, shift or swing dresses, and bodycon during my preggo days and ‘if need be’ shopping sprees. Dresses are a great option to wear with my ever growing belly and will still look just as lovely after. I shared a pregnancy fashion hack not too long ago about buying bodycon dresses and when they no longer fit your body and your bum is practically falling out lol just pull it up and boom!!!! Its a top with room for baby.
Another thing to think about is when you are pregnant in multiple weather seasons. Not only are you trying to find clothing that will work for your bump but also the changing weather. My advice is in the cooler months dresses with stockings, leggings or wear a dress as a tunic and slip jeans under it. As the months warm up your dresses are still good to go. There are so many pregnancy fashion hacks to keep you in your jeans wearable for as long as possible but once I hit the uncomfortable stage and just cannot have anything tight around my waist I run to my beloved dresses.
This dress is going to be a spring fav of mine this year. I am pretty sure its the bell sleeves that have me smitten. I just love the color and the floral print. It works now and later which I adore. The long sleeves are a light chiffon so it won’t be too hot in the warmer months. I paired it with camel colored booties and in the spring I will likely go with a strappy heel or a chunky heeled sandal. If I am feeling extra crazy I’ll mix some prints with it.
PS – This dress just came back in stock so hurry now and grab it before its gone again!
