You might have noticed I’ve been pretty MIA over the last week….actually not even posting at all! Not to worry its for a good reason.
I have to share with you the importance for rest. Not just taking a nap rest but actually giving your life rest. I don’t know about you but stress is not my friend. Some people work well with it in their life but for me it completely consumes me and sends me spiraling into a world of anxiety.
I was starting to feel all the overwhelm from life and really needed to sit down and figure out what was bringing me so much unnecessary worry and heaviness.
Our move, motherhood, daily life, and social media. I had to choose the very least important and take a step back. Obviously it was social media. With a job that is solely internet based and needs a lot of attention this was going to be hard and I could have just set a time limit on how much attention I gave it daily but I went all in and took a complete break.
Its easy to get overwhelmed by the social media world. There is a lot that your mind can absorb that is not healthy at all. I am talking about the negative side. We can start doubting our worth and success comparing ourselves to others, feeding into the what we think is the norm because of what we see on social media, and allowing the pressure of posting great content steal the genuine inspiration we want to share.
This was the situation I found myself in and I must say after spending one week disconnected from social media I am feeling very rested and at peace.
It sounds scary. Especially if you are a blogger, work through networking, or run an online business. I was nervous not about missing out lol but about the dumb things like not staying consistent, posting, losing my faithful followers… you know really unimportant things.
I am currently putting together a post to give you a few tips on successfully taking a break from social media. So stay tuned and keep an eye out!!! But I just wanted you to know I AM BACK and can’t wait to get back to sharing motivating and inspiring prettiness and some lovely fashion!!! 🙂
